The first full Sunday of the NFL regular season is now in the books and tonight, fans get to watch the final two games of the regular season as teams start their march towards Super Bowl 50. Tonight’s double header features the Philadelphia Eagles at the Atlanta Falcons while the Minnesota Vikings travel to the West coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
Both road teams are favored this evening and road favorites this past Sunday went 5-2 SU and ATS. Only the Buffalo Bills and St Louis Rams cashed money as home dogs this weekend. I look for the road team trend to continue this evening.
Philadelphia at Atlanta (+3) 56 points Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has made some serious moves regarding his personnel this past offseason. It appears he’s pushed his chips all in on this season and judging on the preseason play of Philadelphia, Kelly might just cash in. The Eagles soared high in preseason games, scoring 133 points with a variety of players in the lineup. If QB Sam Bradford can stand upright for the entire season, a career high total in touchdowns and passing yards in a certain. Bradford’s health is not a certain however, after missing 31 of his last 80 games due to injury. Bradford is under center tonight however and facing a team that gave up 4,568 passing yards last season. Atlanta, with QB Matt Ryan have been 7-0 ATS in home openers, but the team struggles on Monday Night games going 1-6 SU and 4-3 ATS. I love Philly tonight, give the points and take the over. Philadelphia 38 Atlanta 23
Minnesota at San Francisco (+2.5) 41.5 These are two teams moving in opposite directions. Minnesota was a strong team last season without the weapons needed to get to the playoff round. QB Teddy Bridgewater was the best quarterback out of last year’s draft that no one really is talking about. This year, he gets the addition of RB Adrian Peterson, who will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. The Niners on the other hand are gutted from the coaching staff to the defensive roster. Again, I like the road favorite. Take Minnesota give the points and again, take the over. Minnesota 26 San Francisco 20
