As if the Philadelphia Eagles offense didn’t need another blow, it suffered one on Wednesday when high priced free agent RB DeMarco Murray went down with a hamstring injury. Various media outlets are reporting the injury, but there is no exact word yet as to the extent of the hamstring injury as of yet. Murray and the Eagles have struggled offensively after a stellar preseason points wise.
Murray, inked to a 5-year, $42 million dollar contract, has just 11 yards on 22 carries after leading the NFL in rushing for the 2014 NFL season.
Philadelphia goes on the road to New York where they visit the 2-0 Jets this week, a team featuring a league high 10 turnovers in the first two games of the regular season.
For those that play DFS fantasy games, this is a situation to watch closely as Ryan Mathews will likely start if Murray is unable to go and pass catching specialist Darren Sproles will likely see an increased role as well out of the backfield.
Murray had too many carries last season and was due to start breaking down. I subscribe to this 370 theory completely because I have seen it unfold personally on the football field. Dallas was wise to let him sign for big money elsewhere.
